For those residents who have used
alcohol or drugs recently or who are post-suspensions, curfew and leave
privileges are as follows:
- 4 days of stabilization during which no outings are
permitted (medical purposes excepted).
- Next 10 days with limited leave privileges - 5 passes
for a maximum of 2 hours each which must be approved by a counsellor.
- 2-hour passes during the third week of residency.
- 21:00 curfew for the first three weeks.
- 4-hour passes and 22:00 curfew by the fourth week
- After 4 weeks, 8-hour weekend passes (resident must phone in every 4
hours) and the possibility of occasional curfew extension to 23:00.
For those residents who have not used alcohol or drugs recently, curfew
and leave privileges are as follows:
- 3 days of stabilization during which no outings are
permitted (medical purposes excepted).
- 21:00 curfew for the first week of residency.
- 4-hour passes throughout the first 2 weeks.
- 22:00 curfew the second week
- After 2 weeks, 8-hour
weekend passes (resident must phone in every 4 hours) and the possibility of
occasional curfew extension to 23:00.
For those residents who are on Unescorted Temporary
Absences (UTAs) or who have a residency condition imposed by the National Parole
Board, curfew and leave privileges are as follows:
- 4 days of stabilization during which no outings are
permitted (medical purposes excepted).
- Next 10 days with limited leave privileges - 5 passes
for a maximum of 2 hours each which must be approved by a counsellor.
- 21:00 curfew for the entire length of the residency.
- One daily 2-hour pass during the third week of residency (in addition to one daily 2-hour pass to frequent the
YMCA).
- One daily 4-hour pass by the fourth week (in addition
to one daily 4-hour pass to frequent the YMCA).
Standard sign-out rules for all residents:
- All leave privileges subject to change if problems
arise.
- 21:00 curfew for all residents on Monday evenings.
- Residents are responsible for informing MDH every time
their destination changes.
- Residents must contact MDH every 4 hours.
- Call-ins from cellular phones are not permitted.
- Regular phone checks are made by staff to verify
residents' destinations.
- A counsellor must approve passes and all curfew
extensions.
